Director Jens Mebes came to FX WRX to capture slow motion liquid effects, motion control product work, and an in-camera beer tornado all under one roof. Our team worked with vintage probe lenses for a cinematic look while shooting slow motion macro shots of the actual beer. A miniature transparent wave tank was used to accentuate scale and bring the beer to life. Fluid effects rigs were engineered to create swirls of flowing Heineken and a whirlpool that could be filmed from below. The finished work blends completely practical shots with CG imagery created by Eight VFX.
